The transfer window may have shut in England but for clubs in France, Germany, Italy and Spain the drama is only just getting started.

A number of Europe’s biggest clubs still have plenty of business left to conclude. Juventus are looking to offload Paulo Dybala while the future of Neymar – the most expensive player in the history of the game – is still up in the air. Could he yet leave PSG for a return to Spain?

English clubs can still sell players so expect plenty of movement before the end of the month.

Italy’s Serie A is the next big transfer deadline. The Italian window shuts on 23 August.

The transfer window in La Liga, the Bundesliga and Ligue 1 meanwhile shuts on 2 September.

The 16-year-old's future has been subject to widespread speculation this summer, with Leicester and Tottenham among those understood to be after the midfielder.

Barcelona misfit Philippe Coutinho is now likely to remain at the club, according to reports in Spain.

The former Liverpool man came close to a return to the Premier League with both Arsenal and Tottenham keen on securing a short-term loan.

But Marca report that, following the end of the English transfer window, Coutinho will be kept at the club ahead of a possible departure next summer.

Paulo Dybala looks destined for the Juventus exit after manager Maurizio Sarri said he was poised to axe SIX first-team players from his Champions League squad. 

Sarri said: "I can talk about Paulo all I like, but the market goes in a certain way and then whatever I say counts for nothing.

"I think he has the right characteristics to play as a false centre forward. But in any case, we have to cut six players from the Champions League list.

"Our situation is difficult, almost embarrassing, because we run the risk of leaving out players of a really high level.

"It’s a situation we have to resolve and it is not just about the decisions made by coach or club."

Valencia are closing in on the signing of Barcelona midfielder Rafinha according to reports.

Spanish daily Sport this morning claims that Barcelona have decided to sell the player before his contract expires and are asking for just £9m.

Valencia have reportedly agreed personal terms with the Brazilian, with an announcement likely when Barca return from their pre-season tour of the United States.

Inter Milan have identified their dream strike partner for new signing Romelu Lukaku.

According to Italian outlet Sport Mediaset, Antonio Conte's side want to deploy Lukaku alongside fellow Premier League old boy Edin Dzeko.

The publication claims that Inter have offered Roma a fee in the region of £17m for the 33-year-old striker.

Harry Maguire was one of the biggest movers in the English transfer window and the £80m man certainly impressed former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho yesterday.

Maguire became the world's most expensive defender this summer and the England international delivered a man-of-the-match performance on his debut at Old Trafford.

“He was solid like a rock,” Mourinho, who has managed both United and Chelsea, said in his role as a television analyst for Sky Sports.

“You can be very dangerous in attack but if you feel that a mistake is around the corner it takes your confidence away and you don't play as well. When you feel there is something that allows you to play you are much more confident.

“As I always said Lindelof can be a very good player. With Maguire it can be a very good partnership.”

Paris St Germain manager Thomas Tuchel said he can understand fans' frustration at Neymar as the Ligue 1 side started their title defence without the Brazilian.

The record signing was not named in the matchday squad for the comfortable 3-0 win over Nimes at the Parc des Princes with Edinson Cavani, Kylian Mbappe and Angel Di Maria all on the scoresheet.

But Neymar, said to be unsettled in France and who has been linked with Barcelona and Real Madrid, was also the focus of attention with a number of fans holding a banner telling him to "get lost" and chanting about the 27-year-old.

Tuchel, quoted in L'Equipe, said: "It's tricky. I don't know what to say. I saw it on my colleagues' smartphones because I did not hear them (the chants) during the match.

"Can I understand it? Yes and no. He's still our player, my player, and I protect all my players.

"He's in my dressing room. I can understand that not everyone has liked what he has said and done."

Cavani's penalty, following a VAR review on 25 minutes, gave PSG an interval lead before second-half goals from Mbappe and Di Maria put the result beyond doubt.

Asked if Neymar's creativity was missing, Tuchel said: "It's always missing because he can find solutions that only he can find. He can open space with movement, an injection of pace, one on ones..."

Cavani put the champions up with a penalty after Nimes defender Pablo Martinez handled in the box with the spot kick awarded by VAR, with Mbappe and Di Maria both finding the net early in the second half.

Mbappe, twice, and Cavani both squandered further opportunities as PSG pressed for a fourth goal late on, while Nimes went close to a consolation in the closing stages through Antonin Bobichon and Renaud Ripart.

Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren has his heart set on a move to Serie A, according to reports.

Lovren has fallen down the pecking order at Anfield and wasn’t even named on the bench for Friday’s Premier League opener against Norwich City.

Joel Matip has overtaken him as Liverpool’s second starting centre-back alongside Virgil van Dijk, with Joe Gomez named as a substitute defender on Friday.
