Spain: Man City and Seville fans clash ahead of Champions League match

Video has emerged of Manchester City and Sevilla fans clashing ahead of their Champions League tie this evening.

The footage, seemingly filmed from a resident's balcony, shows several fans throwing chairs and stools while chants of 'City, City' can be heard.

The Man City fans were allegedly attacked in a bar, with two being lightly injured but no arrests being reported.

An eyewitness told the Manchester Evening News: "It was horrible. Some people came into the bar and they were wearing masks.

”They began shouting ‘hooligans, hooligans’. They were fighting and throwing chairs everywhere. It all happened so quickly. It was over in 10 minutes.

“The fighting was really scary. Some people ran out of the bar which was packed as they wanted to get away. I think someone was injured. There was somebody with blood on their head. The police came and ambulances came too.”

Similar clashes occurred before the fixture's first leg in Manchester.

Police confirmed that one man was treated for head injuries and three others had been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder from that day. On that occasion it was believed that the aggression stemmed from a rivalry between Sevilla and Polish side Slask Wroclaw.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed that the three arrested men were Polish football fans and the man treated for a head injury was Spanish.
