Football manager sacked three times this season, by the same club

Every football manager understands he is only a few bad results away from the sack, but for Tsanko Tsvetanov, the situation is getting ridiculous.

The former Bulgarian international has been sacked for a third time this season - all by the same club.

Tsvetanov was first sacked in August after a 1-0 defeat to Beroe Stara Zagora and then again when his side were beaten by Pirin Gotse Delchev in September. On both occasions he was reinstated following protests from fans.

Tsvetanov's latest sacking was due to a "series of statements against Turkish owner Feyzi Ilhanli and actions that undermine the prestige of the club" according to a club statement. Last month, Ilhanli accused Tsvetanov of being involved in match fixing, something the manager denies.

Tsvetanov, who was part of the Bulgaria team that finished fourth in the 1994 World Cup, first took charge of the club in January and guided them to the top-flight after a 14-year absence.

They have struggled since their return to the top-tier of Bulgarian football, currently lying second from bottom.
