Pep Guardiola and Nigel de Jong in furious tunnel row after strong tackle during friendly

Pep Guardiola and Nigel de Jong had to be restrained in the tunnel after a furious row during the friendly between Bayern Munich and AC Milan.

Bayern eventually won the game 3-0 but the Spanish manager was angered by the former Manchester City midfielder following a strong tackle on youngster Joshua Kimmich.

The 20-year-old was forced off because of the injury just 20 minutes into the game.

Guardiola gestured to the fourth official that the Dutchman should be sent off but the row continued in the tunnel of the Allianz Arena at half-time.

Waiting in the tunnel, Guardiola launched into a tirade against the midfielder -the words clearly angered De Jong who had to be restrained by player and staff as he made his way towards the manager.

"I told De Jong that I was sad for Joshua," Guardiola said of the incident after the game. "He won't be able to play in the final (against Real Madrid) and perhaps he'll be out even longer than that.

"He certainly will become one of the best German players in the next 10 years."

However, Milan boss Sinisa Mihajlovic defended De Jong - famous for his chest high tackle in the 2010 World Cup final.

"Football isn't dancing and fouls are part of the sport," he said. "This is also why games like this cannot be called friendlies."
