Tony Pulis is considering an appeal

Stoke manager Tony Pulis is considering an appeal after being fined £10,000 and warned about his future conduct by the FA. Pulis was found guilty of improper conduct over his criticism of referee Lee Probert after a 2-1 Carling Cup defeat by Liverpool last month.

Pulis, who attended a personal hearing, said: "I'm very disappointed with the outcome. I have requested written reasons and am considering an appeal." The Potters manager had been infuriated by several of Probert's decisions at the Britannia Stadium.

SFO asked to look at bid 'corruption'

The Serious Fraud Office have been asked to investigate allegations that Fifa members asked for money and an honour during England's bid for the 2018 World Cup. Damian Collins, a Conservative MP, has written to the SFO about claims made to a Parliamentary committee by former England 2018 chairman Lord Triesman in May.

Triesman told a hearing in May there had been "improper and unethical" behaviour by Fifa members. He said the then FIFA vice-president Jack Warner asked for money to build an education centre in Trinidad and Paraguay member Nicolas Leoz asked for a knighthood.
