Raheem Sterling made a surprise visit to a Labour candidate in the upcoming General Election to send a message of support.

The Liverpool forward, 20, visited the offices of Dawn Butler who is standing for election in Brent Central on 7 May.

Sterling was born in Kingston, Jamaica, and moved to London when he was only five, growing up on the St Raphael's estate in Brent.

Butler was a Member of Parliament in the now defunct seat of Brent South when Sterling was growing up and the England player appeared in a video to thank her, saying that "hopefully we can see her as MP again".
