Selfie sticks have been banned from some sporting events, but one of the divisive vanity contraptions was welcome at the wedding of footballer Chico Flores.

The former Swansea player used the device at the alter of his own wedding.

The Spanish defender, standing along with his new wife and the priest, can be seen holding the stick out in order to capture as much of the congregation assembled in the church as possible.

The message with the image posted on social media read: "Thanks greatly to everyone who attended yesterday.

"I take my hat off to all the guests. Selfie with the priest..."

The 28-year-old later shared a caricature of himself and his bride.

Chico left the Liberty Stadium last summer for Qatari side Lekhwiya where last season he helped the team win the league and the Qatar Cup.
