Sit-down football protest: Players in Brazil take action over demanding schedule

While at first it may appear that across Brazil, every single football player had a tantrum at exactly the same time, the striking images that emerged from the hosts of the 2014 World Cup at the weekend were part of a protest.
Unhappy with the demanding schedules, a knock-on effect of hosting next summer's tournament, players across the divisions sat down on the floor and crossed their arms at the beginning of their games.
Players have threatened to continue with the protests and may even strike.
