Italian rugby supporters will hail the shaggy-haired centre after the 28-year-old's majestic display secured his side's biggest win in their history, a 22-21 Six Nations win over France in Rome on Saturday. The Racing Metro player wrote himself into Italian rugby folklaw by converting Andrea Masi's try and kicking five penalties as Italy shocked the holders.

Collins Obuya

Australia did beat Kenya yesterday, but were outshone by the 29-year-old Nairobi-born all-rounder. With his country chasing a mammoth 324, Obuya finished unbeaten on an excellent 98, hitting nine fours and three sixes. In fact, he scored more than any of the holders' batsmen.

The Bad

Lord Sugar

The entrepreneur has been embroiled in a number of controversies since signing up to Twitter – not least his jousts with Piers Morgan – and he was at it again yesterday. After Stoke's Matthew Etherington went down for a penalty in their win over West Ham, Sugar tweeted: "Everington dived like a dog." One wonders, will we ever see the sweet side of Sugar? And since when have dogs displayed Tom Daley tendencies?

Andy Murray

The Scot remains without a Grand Slam win and disappointed fans yesterday by making an early exit at the Paribas Open in Indian Wells, losing in straight sets to qualifier Donald Young. Just the two months to prepare for the French Open, Andy.

The Odd

Red devil sees red

Amid the hysteria of four players being red-carded during an eventful Youth Cup quarter-final at Anfield yesterday, in which Manchester United came from two goals down to defeat Liverpool 3-2, the dismissal of United's Paul Pogba was particularly astonishing. After Liverpool's Stephen Sama was dismissed for bringing down United captain Ryan Tunnicliffe in the area with Liverpool 2-0 ahead, Pogba strode up to strike the spot-kick. The midfielder, 18 tomorrow, stuttered mid-way through his run-up before slotting home, earning him a surreal second yellow card. Team-mate Larnell Cole was left to tuck home the penalty as United recovered to make the last four.
