Steven Gerrard and his Liverpool team-mates appear to be putting the heartbreaking end of last season behind them with a spot of team bonding in New York.

The Reds are currently over in the States on a pre-season tour, where they are not just defeating the Premier League champions Manchester City, they are also taking in all the sites, enjoying a couple of nights on the town, and bumping into James Bond actor Daniel Craig.

The Liverpool captain has documented their trip on his Instagram feed, including the image of the Liverpool squad letting their hair down on a night out, with the caption: "Can't beat a bit of team bonding and what a great city to do it".

There is a notable absentee from the picture, however, Raheem Sterling is nowhere to be found. At 19, it'll be two more years until the England winger is legally allowed to buy a drink in America.

It was a painful end to the season for Liverpool last term, after Gerrard's slip up against Chelsea sparked a meltdown which saw the Reds blow the chance to win their first title since 1990.

As fate would have it, the Reds begin their Premier League campaign against Southampton on 17 August, the team they have signed three players from this summer.
