High expectations turned to disappointment after the manager chose to switch from a high tempo, attacking style to a more measured, possession-first game with only one man up front.

The loss of and failure to replace Zoltan Gera and Kevin Phillips, (Borja Valero was never the answer), was a massive mistake by the club. The lack of experience in the squad was exposed time and again by more savvy opposition players, who capitalised on mistakes by our young backline. The inability of the attack, missing the injured Ismael Miller for most of the season, to convert its chances was punished game after game. The right balance for the team, despite £22m being spent, was found sadly too late for survival.

Which team were your best opponents?

Favourite opponents were Middlesbrough, having done the double over them. Best opposition faced was Manchester United, who thrashed us twice.

Who would you like your team to sign this summer?

To sign loanee Marc Antoine Fortune this summer would be great. His energy and hold-up is magnificent.

What was the weirdest/funniest moment of the season?

Dean Kiely flagging to substitute the injured linesman in our defeat of Wigan was the funniest moment.

Mark out of 10 for the season?
