Arsene Wenger showed his Arsenal side just how it is done - by nailing the crossbar challenge first time.

During Arsenal's Members Day yesterday, the 65-year-old Frenchman scooped the ball right onto the bar after controlling it with his knee.

Wenger was a defender during his playing career, the highlight being three seasons at RC Strasbourg between 1978-1981.

While Wenger was only at the edge of the area when he hit the bar, he was a lot more successful than his Gunners squad when they undertook the challenge back in 2007 (watch below):

Wenger said yesterday that he is still aiming to improve his squad this summer.

Arsenal's only arrival this summer is Petr Cech from Chelsea for £11m.

"We know we will be better but it's difficult to know how much our opponents will improve before the season," said Wenger.

"If we can still strengthen, we will do it."
