Arsenal fans will display a 'Refugees Welcome' banner at their home game against Stoke City this afternoon.

A tweet by ex-Aston Villa and Liverpool striker Stan Collymore has been widely shared on the social media platform, showing a photo of Gunners fans outside the Emirates with the banner.

Earlier this week, Arsenal became the first Premier League club to pledge money towards charities helping those fleeing war-torn countries in hope of building a better life in Europe.

The club will donate £1 from every ticket sold for today's clash against Stoke City to the 'Refugees Welcome' campaign.

The gesture comes on a planned 'national day of action', organised by @RefugeesEFL, that aims to inspire football supporters up and down the country to show their solidarity with refugees.

Reports earlier this week indicated that only supporters at only 11 clubs had committed themselves to taking part in the campaign.

However, following this display from Arsenal fans, it seems some may be displaying solidarity independently without declaring their affiliation to the campaign.
