The Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is set to have minor surgery on his knee. The 20-year-old did not play for the Gunners last season, because of an ankle problem.

Arsenal said Wilshere was recovering "very well" from that injury, but added: "[Wilshere's] rehabilitation has seen a long-standing slight issue with his patella tendon in his left knee flare up. Jack will travel to Sweden for a minor procedure on his left knee in the next few days. This procedure is not expected to significantly affect Jack's comeback ahead of next season."
