Arsene Wenger has admitted he is in the dark over the current injury status of Alexis Sanchez, Santi Cazorla and Mikel Arteta.
Sanchez and Cazorla were both injured in the 1-1 draw with Norwich on Sunday, leaving the Gunners with nine first-team players currently missing from action; with a mounting injury crisis Arsenal have not won any of their last three Premier League games.
"At the moment on Alexis, Santi and Mikel, we don't know how long they will be out for," the Gunners boss Wenger told the Arsenal club website.
Wenger may provide an update at his Friday morning media conference to preview Saturday's clash with Sunderland at the Emirates.
With the busy Christmas period about to begin Wenger has faced mounting criticism for failing to sufficiently improve his squad during the summer, where Arsenal were the only club in Europe not to sign an outfield player. Petr Cech was his only addition.
The Frenchman has also faced criticism for selecting Sanchez.
"I would have rested him today but he felt perfectly all right before the game and he declared that he had no problem," Wenger said on Sunday.
Laurent Koscielny (hip) had to be substituted at Norwich, but could feature against the Black Cats.
The France defender and Theo Walcott will face late fitness tests.

Left-back Kieran Gibbs is back in contention after missing the Norwich match with a calf injury.
Wenger added: "We will make a decision on Saturday on Koscielny and Walcott, they could both make the squad. Gibbs is available again for the weekend."
Midfielders Jack Wilshere (broken leg), Francis Coquelin (knee), Tomas Rosicky (knee) and forward Danny Welbeck (knee) are all out.
