It’s a big game for…

Rudy Gestede: The hosts need to pick up results urgently, but a lack of goals has been a major issue this season. They’ve only managed 10 goals in 13 games so they are going to need Gestede to add to his three goals so far. If Rémi Garde’s side are to avoid relegation, they need to focus on picking up results at home, so the former Lyon manager will need Gestede on top form.

Best stat…

5: Villa haven’t scored a goal at home in five of their last seven games. Their fans will be hoping that changes, and quickly if they are to have any chance of avoiding relegation.

Remember when…

The sides last met? Back in 2007, Villa eased to a 2-0 win in Watford’s first season back in the Premier League.

Player to watch…

Troy Deeney: With three goals in his last four games, Deeney will be hoping to get Watford back to winning ways after defeats to Manchester United and Leicester City. Against a Villa side that hasn’t won at home in the league so far, he’ll be confident of adding to his goal tally.
