Branislav Ivanovic has been rewarded with a new one-year contract with Chelsea, despite his poor form this season, according to reports.
The Serbian defender has put in many error-prone performances this term as the Blues have struggled. The Premier league champions are currently in 14th place in the table, a massive 19 points off the top of the league.
The 31-year-old's previous deal at Stamford Bridge was set to expire at the end of the season, but his new contract ties him to the club at least until the summer of 2017.
He said: "I have enjoyed so much success since moving to the club and I am determined to help the team achieve more in the last months of this season and next year as well."
Ivanovic joined Chelsea from Lokomotiv Moscow in January 2008 and has since made 341 appearances for the club, scoring 32 goals.
The Serbia international has won two Premier League titles, four FA Cups, the Capital One Cup, the Europa League and the Champions League during his eight years with Chelsea.
