Guus Hiddink was denied a win in his first game back in charge of Chelsea after the Blues were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw with Watford on Boxing Day.
The champions started the game in dominant fashion and were rewarded after Diego Costa - who appeared revived and determined - opened the scoring in superb fashion in the 32nd minute.
Chelsea, however, were forced to go into the break on level terms after Nemanja Matic inexplicably decided to protect his face with his arm in the area, which resulted in Watford being given a penalty minutes before the break - which Troy Deeney didn't hesitate to convert.
When Odion Ighalo then scored in the 56th minute with a fine strike that deflected off Gary Cahill, Chelsea looked to be heading to another defeat until Willian and Costa combined to salvage a point.

However, he disappointed in the second period when he held off as Ighalo attacked, which resulted in the Nigeria international scoring.
Chelsea vs Watford - player ratings John Terry - 6 out of 10 Was caught out by some fancy footwork from Ighalo in the first half, but remained undeterred and went on to play a part in Costa's first goal after heading the ball into the striker's path.
Chelsea vs Watford - player ratings Cesar Azpilicueta - 7 out of 10 Defended well and kept the likes of Abdi quiet throughout the first half. Even came out of position to help Terry and Cahill when needed and was one of Chelsea's best defenders on the day.

He began to fade in the second half, which resulted in his substitution for Hazard but it was a good day in the office for the winger.

Chelsea vs Watford - player ratings Willian - 7 out of 10 Won the battle with Holebas going forwards and indeed it was his corner that led to Costa scoring before he delivered a sublime pass to create Costa's second goal. Again displayed the work rate, willingness and determination that has been missing from the team this season.

The Brazilian winger provided a superb ball past three Watford players to set up Costa, who made a run past Miguel Britos and Craig Cathcart and restored parity with another superb goal.
Chelsea could have taken all three points through Oscar, but the Brazilian blasted his late spot-kick high after appearing to slip just before he struck the ball.
