French striker Loic Remy could return to the Chelsea starting line-up when the Blues face Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday after training this week.

However, Jose Mourinho says the striker will have a late fitness test ahead of kick-off to decide whether he can start the match.

Remy, who has seven goals this season including crucial strikes against Manchester City, Hull and Stoke, missed the win at Queens Park Rangers because of a small calf injury.

The 28-year-old trained with the team this week and could be put straight back into the side by Jose Mourinho if he is deemed fit enough after Didier Drogba failed to make an impact at Loftus Road, with the Blues needing a late Cesc Fabregas goal to win the three points.

Drogba was excellent against Manchester United when the teams drew 1-1 in October, scoring the opening goal with a powerful header.

Speaking at his press conference, Mourinho said he "didn't know" if Remy will play but "had a chance" that was better than 50-50 when asked.

He added: "Diego Costa's recovery is going well and he will start training with the rest of the squad next week."
