Frank Lampard says that Chelsea must keep the faith with manager Jose Mourinho, despite the Premier League champions now being just one point above the relegation zone after their 2-1 defeat at league-leaders Leicester City last night.

"We've been here before at Chelsea where managers change in the middle of the season," Chelsea's all-time leading scorer told Sky Sports while working as a pundit on the game.

"I don't know how many times you can do that.

"What they set out to do when they brought Jose back was a long-term plan. What can they gain by getting rid of him now?

"They're not going to get top four or top six, if we're honest, so I'm sure there's a view that says to Roman Abramovich that they should see what happens at the end of the season.

"Why make a rash change now that can't affect the year? Let's see where we are at the end of the season."
