Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Adebayor has held talks with West Ham United over a potential loan move, according to Sky Sports.

Mauricio Pochettino is eager to remove the Togan striker's hefty £100,000-a-week salary from their wage bill and are willing to pay a proportion of the sum in order to guarantee his departure.

Hammers manager Slaven Bilic is currently without three of his four main strikers, with Andy Carroll, Enner Valencia and Mauro Zarate all sidelined.

This has paved the way for Adebayor's arrival, who is currently training with the reserves at White Hart Lane.

West Ham previously moved for the former Arsenal man last January, but failed to cobble a deal together.

In the other direction, reports have suggested that Spurs have had a £15m bid for Hammers midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate rejected.

Although Pochettino is hopeful of adding to his midfield before the 6pm deadline, the Daily Mail suggests that the club's advances have been rebuffed.
