Everton and Liverpool played out a goallless draw at Goodison Park this evening, the same result as five of the last six meetings between these two.
Brendan Rodgers handed a shock start to teenager Jordon Ibe and he was one of the few bright spots for the Reds, going closer than anyone else when he unleashed a long-range strike that cannoned back off the bar.
Disappointingly for Everton, they managed just one shot on target in the 90minutes, with £28million striker Romelu Lukaku again struggling to have a defining impact.
Steven Gerrard played in his 33rd and final Merseyside derby but there was no fairy tale ending. However, the Reds skipper does finish with a record of 17 wins and just five defeats against the Toffees.
