Is Fabian Delph's Manchester City career over before it has even started?

The midfielder signed for City last week in a remarkable transfer, changing his mind to join just days after pledging his future to Aston Villa.

The £8m signing started on the left of midfield in City's final game at the International Champions Cup in Melbourne against Real Madrid today.

Deph pulled up with a hamstring problem moments after a challenge with Real's former Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric.

The 25-year-old then left the field on a stretcher.

There was much talk on whether Delph would get in th City team when he signed, and now he has fallen down the pecking order before the season has begun. It is likely he will miss the start of the campaign.

Goals from Karim Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Pepe put Real 3-0 up, before Yaya Toure pulled one back for City on the stroke of half-time.
