Harry Kane has been named Premier League Player of the Month for January, after a brilliant month in which he scored five goals and Tottenham won three out of four matches.
In fact, Kane's goal scoring record was equal to that of the entire Arsenal team, who scored five goals in their three matches, collecting six points from three games.
The stat is slightly misleading, as the Gunners did score five goals on 1 February, the day after Spurs beat West Brom at The Hawthorns (31 January).
Kane started January with a brilliant individual performance as Spurs surprised league leaders Chelsea with a superb 5-3 victory at White Hart Lane on New Year's Day; the 21-year-old scored twice and also grabbed an assist.
He also scored at Selhurst Park but Crystal Palace fought back to win 2-1, Jason Puncheon scoring the winner.
Kane was impressive in the 2-1 win against Sunderland, although he didn't manage to get on the scoresheet, and was again the man of the match when Spurs visited West Brom, scoring two thumping goals in a 3-0 win.

Liverpool 3 Tottenham 2 - player ratings Harry Kane It’s easy to run out of superlatives for the young striker. It’s becoming a surprise not to see his name on the score sheet, and he took his finish with aplomb, albeit with a pinch of fortune. He then provided the assists for Spur’s second goal and looks every bit of England’s best striker. 8
