Harry Kane 'to be offered £100,000-a-week' contract to break Gareth Bale's record deal at Tottenham

Tottenham are willing to exceed the £80,000-a-week they paid Gareth Bale in order to reward Kane for his form over the last two seasons

Tottenham are ready to reward the players that have excelled this season in returning to the Champions League by offering them new contracts, with Harry Kane poised to sign a club-record deal that will see him surpass Gareth Bale’s record contract.

Kane is on the verge of scoring his 50th Premier League goal in just two seasons for the club, with his tally of 25 in this season’s campaign adding to the 21 he notched last term. In all competitions, Kane has scored 59 goals since the start of the 2014/15 season, and according to the Daily Mail Tottenham are ready to offer him the biggest contract in the club’s history to keep him at the club for the foreseeable future.

Spurs can seal second place in the Premier League this weekend if they better Arsenal’s result against Manchester City, and despite seeing their title hopes ended last Monday they can yet look back on the year with great pride after exceeding all expectations.

The 22-year-old striker is reported to be facing a double-your-money offer from Spurs that will see his wages increase to £100,000-a-week, surpassing the £80,000 wage that Bale agreed before heading to Real Madrid in an £86m world record transfer.

Not only does it display Spurs’ intention to keep the striker at the club amid interest from Manchester United and Real, but shows that the platform which the north London side rates the England international equates to the likes of Bale.

The offer to Kane is being viewed as a reward for his form given he only signed his latest contract in February last year, and although it’s added that the deal is unlikely to be completed before he joins up with the England squad for Euro 2016, both parties are relaxed over the agreement.

Kane is not the only one set to be offered a new contract at White Hart Lane, with manager Mauricio Pochettino already verbally agreeing a five-year contract that will be completed in the coming weeks and a trio of key players set for new deals in Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli and Erik Lamela.

Eriksen looks set to increase his wages to the same mark as Bale’s record deal, while Lamela will be rewarded for an impressive up-turn in form following two disappointing seasons with the club. Alli meanwhile signed a five-and-a-half year deal in January, but given he is on £25,000-a-week, the club could look to improve his financial terms in order to keep the player happy at Spurs and remove the possibility of him seeking a move elsewhere in the future.
