Hicks and Gillett hope for court win
A judge will rule today whether former Liverpool owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett can sue in the United States over the sale of the club to the owners of the Boston Red Sox.
Hicks and Gillett claim that they were victims of an "epic swindle" over the sale of the club in October last year. At the time, an "anti-suit" order was issued to prevent Hicks and Gillett from suing outside Britain or the European Union, after they attempted to sue in Texas. Last week their lawyers argued in the High Court that the order should be lifted.
Judge Christopher Floyd will also rule on whether former chairman Martin Broughton can seek damages from Hicks.
