A rare set of events is about to take place in the Premier League this weekend, with the traditional top four all poised to feature on our screens alongside Gary Lineker and guests on Match of the Day on Saturday night.

Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool all play on a Saturday for only the second time in recent years, with Sky Sports' 'Super Sunday' and 'Monday Night Football' tending to feature at least one of those sides.

Two highly anticipated derbies will be taking place, when Liverpool play host to Everton in the lunchtime kick off and Tottenham travel down the road to Arsenal in the evening with both away sides looking to avoid the same disastrous results they suffered last season.

League leaders Chelsea welcome high-flying Aston Villa to Stamford Bridge, looking to avenge the defeat at Villa Park last season which ended Jose Mourinho’s side’s title charge. Injury-hit Manchester United play West Ham at Old Trafford with both games kicking off alongside four others clashes at 3pm.

The previous time they did play all play on a Saturday, was during last season on October 19 and only five games into the new season.

Runners up Liverpool travelled to St. James’ Park to play Newcastle United in the early kick off. They fell behind to a Yohan Cabaye strike before a Steven Gerrard penalty levelled them up. Paul Dummett then put Newcastle back into the lead before a Daniel Sturridge header rescued Liverpool a point.

In his first season back, Jose Mourinho’s side welcomed newly-promoted Cardiff City to Stamford Bridge but the home side fell behind when Jordan Mutch put the Bluebirds in front. However a brace from Eden Hazard and goals from Oscar and Samuel Eto’o settled the clash.

On the other side of London, Arsenal welcomed Norwich City to the Emirates and this was the venue for the goal of the season when Jack Wilshere finished off a fine team move to open the scoring. Mezut Ozil doubled the lead before Jonny Howson halved the deficit for the home side. Aaron Ramsey and another from Ozil completed a comfortable win for Arsenal.

Having won the Premier League in the previous season and said an emotional goodbye to Sir Alex Ferguson, a struggling Manchester United managed by David Moyes took on Southampton at Old Trafford. Robin van Persie opened the scoring for the home side but a last minute goal from former Saints captain Adam Lallana levelled the tie, making sure the away side took a home a point.
