John Terry goes sky diving: Chelsea captain pictured mid-air in Dubai

The defender is making the most of the international break

John Terry loved representing his country, but the Chelsea captain has learnt there are some perks to not playing for England.

While Roy Hodgson has been putting his Euro 2016 hopefuls through their paces at St George's Park, Terry has been catching some sun in Dubai.

And while the current England squad have their focus on friendlies with Germany and the Netherlands, Terry has ticked something of his bucket list by going sky diving.

The Chelsea captain posted a picture of himself performing a tandem jump over The Palm resort in the United Arab Emirates.

"What a great experience and a brilliant view of the Palm," wrote Terry. "I can tick this off my bucket list."

Terry collected 78 caps for England but his time with the national team will always be overshadowed by controversy. He was removed as captain due to off-field allegations regarding his private life. He led a revolt against Fabio Capello at the 2010 World Cup and, having been handed back the armband, he was stripped of the captaincy again amid allegations he racially abused Anton Ferdinand, the brother of fellow England centre-back Rio.

Terry eventually announced his retirement from international football in September 2012.
