Manchester United's Spanish playmaker Juan Mata has picked his ultimate XI of former Manchester United players.

Mata, 27, joined United from Chelsea for £37.1m in January 2014, and has become an integral part of the United side.

He has made 65 appearances in all competitions for the club since his move, scoring 20 goals.

In interview with United's official website, Mata has delved into the club's illustrious history, and has selected his XI of former United players. And whittling it down to 11, there are obviously some omissions here.

United are currently in fourth place in the Premier League table after a mixed start to the campaign, losing two of their 12 matches. They are two points behind leaders Manchester City and Arsenal, who share top spot with 26 points.

Louis van Gaal's side take on Watford next in the Premier League on Saturday lunchtime.
