Jurgen Klopp is prepared to delay a move to Premier League so he can determine his chances of succeeding Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola, according to reports.

The German manager is currently unemployed after leaving Borussia Dortmund at the end of last season.

Klopp has since been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League, particularly to Liverpool, whose manager Brendan Rodgers remains under pressure.

However, according to the Mail, Klopp is keeping his options open, in the hope that he is one of the leading candidates for the Bavarian club's job.

During his time at the Westfalenstadion, Klopp led the club to two league titles in 2011 and 2012, as well as reaching the Champions League final in 2013.

Last season, the 48-year-old coach admitted that he would be open to a move to England and earlier this week, former Liverpool and Germany midfielder Dietmar Hamann described him as the 'perfect' candidate for the role at Anfield.

Guardiola's future, meanwhile, remains uncertain. The Spaniard's contract at Bayern expires at the end of this season and Manchester City are long-standing admirers.

Klopp, when speaking about his future earlier this month, said that he would not necessarily move to one of Europe's elite clubs.

"It doesn't have to be an absolute top club," he told German newspaper Bild. "There are other good projects that are exciting, who need help."
