Jurgen Klopp jokingly threatened to leave Mamadou Sakho on Alcatraz Island after the defender disrupted an interview the Liverpool manager was giving to the club's website.

The Reds got their pre-season tour to America underway with a trip to the San Francisco prison where Klopp took questions about the trip.

As he was doing so, Sakho interrupted his manager during the interview in a bid to show him up on, asking Klopp: “How long do you think you can live here?”

But the stunt backfired as the Liverpool boss proceeded to call out the Frenchman who had turned up late for the side’s flight to America and humorously threatened to leave Sakho behind on the island.

Given he'll probably need him for Liverpool's pre-season matches, Klopp chose not to follow through with his threat...

The Reds are set to play two friendly fixtures in America, as well as two International Champions Cup, as they ready themselves for the coming season.
