Having earned a reputation throughout his career for getting among the goalscorers, Liverpool and England captain Steven Gerrard scored for the 100th time in his Premier League career when he converted a first-half penalty against Newcastle.

Gerrard has now scored 100 times in his 450 appearances for the Reds, and he has joined th elite 100-club which reads as a list of the who's who of the English top flight's most consistent scorers.

The 33-year-old's, fresh from having scored the second goal for England in Tuesday that took them out of Poland's reach and into the 2014 World Cup, becomes just the 24th man to achieve the feat.
