Brendan Rodgers could be missing seven first-team players when Liverpool host Burnley in the Premier League tonight.

Steven Gerrard, Lucas, Glen Johnson, Brad Jones, Jon Flanagan, Jordon Ibe and Mamadou Sakho all have varying fitness concerns heading into the match at Anfield.

However, all seven being out would be a worst-case scenario with Sakho and Johnson in contention for a return to the squad. Liverpool captain Gerrard returned to training on Tuesday having not played since the 3-2 defeat of Tottenham on 10 February, but is unlikely to be risked against the Clarets.

None of the players struggling played in the win against Manchester City.

Teenage winger Jordon Ibe has promised to 'come back stronger' after posting a picture of his knee in a brace.

The 19-year-old, who was hugely impressive for the Reds in seven appearances after returning from a loan spell at Derby County, has been ruled out for about a month with a knee injury.

He missed the win at Manchester City after picking up a problem in the defeat to Besiktas - earlier this week he was found to have suffered ligament damage.

Taking to Instagram, Ibe posted a picture of his knee in a brace with the caption: "I'll be back stronger".
