Liverpool a tougher assignment than Arsenal, says Tottenham's Hugo Lloris

Spurs stopper thinks Liverpool are the in-form team in the Premier League

Next up for Tottenham following their weekend victory against Arsenal will be Liverpool, and goalkeeper Hugo Lloris claims it will be a tougher assignment than the one posed by their north London rivals.

Tottenham beat the Gunners 2-1 at White Hart Lane on Sunday to move themselves up to third in the table, while also creating a seven point cushion over fifth placed Arsenal.

It was seen as a huge step in Tottenham's push to qualify for the Champions League but Lloris says Spurs can't afford to relax now.

"The season is not finished," said the French international. "There are 10 games to go so we have to keep concentration and be focused on the end of the season.

"Of course it’s better to be in this position than Arsenal although we have to keep a lucidity of the situation.

"The most important thing is to be in the Champions League next season and I think we have to keep our ambition.

"We don’t know what can happen so we have to keep going, not look at the other teams and be focused on ourselves."

Spurs travel to Anfield on Sunday, with Lloris well aware his side face a team in equally buoyant mood following their Luis Suarez inspired demolition of Wigan in their last outing.

"Liverpool are playing maybe the best football in the Premier League at this moment.

"They proved that in their last game against Wigan. It will be a very difficult game but very exciting game in Anfield."

After Liverpool, Andre Villas-Boas' side face testing encounters against Chelsea, Manchester City and Everton in their run-in, and Lloris is hopeful that Tottenham's attitude will ensure they don't crumble as they did last season.

"We have got some tough games coming up but the Arsenal win has put us in a good position," the 26 year-old said.

"We showed fighting spirit and commitment that you need to win football matches.

"We didn't have much of the ball for the first 20 minutes but we showed grit and determination."
