They could have gone 11 points clear of Manchester United with a victory – but in the end David Moyes’ side overpowered Arsenal 1-0 at Old Trafford on Sunday. But this is hardly a surprise, as well as their fifth successive Premier League defeat at United, Arsenal have now not won in their last 10 league matches at the home of the reigning champions, since beating United away in 2002, a result which secured them the title that season.

From the 1-1 draw at Manchester City last season, to the memorable 8-2 thrashing at United in the previous campaign, Arsenal have not had the best of luck when travelling to the home of the title holders, and have only scored six goals in those 10 matches – conceding 18 in return.

For Arsene Wenger, there is always the hope that the Emirates Stadium will be the home of the reigning champions next season.

Here's the full list of those results:

2013/14: Man Utd 1-0 Arsenal

2012/13: Man City 1-1 Arsenal

2011/12: Man Utd 8-2 Arsenal

2010/11: Chelsea 2-0 Arsenal

2009/10: Man Utd 2-1 Arsenal

2008/09: Man Utd 0-0 Arsenal

2007/08: Man Utd 2-1 Arsenal

2006/07: Chelsea 1-1 Arsenal

2005/06: Chelsea 1-0 Arsenal

2003/04: Man Utd 0-0 Arsenal

2001/02: Man Utd 0-1 Arsenal
