Manchester United will be without star striker Radamel Falcao as they head into Sunday's Manchester derby against Manchester City.

United manager Louis van Gaal has confirmed that Falcao will miss the fixture at the Etihad Stadium. Falcao has not played since 20 October after picking up a knock in training.

There's better news for his strike partner Wayne Rooney, however, who will return. Rooney has missed United's last three matches because of suspension, but Van Gaal today rejected claims that the striker was also struggling with injury.

"He was never injured," Van Gaal adds on Rooney. "He shall play, he is my captain".

United are currently eighth in the table following last weekend's draw with Chelsea, however they did manage to gain a point on Manchester City who surprisingly lost to West Ham.

Here, we take a look at the others who could be missing for Manchester United this weekend...
