Jose Mourinho has passed judgement on his first 10 Manchester United training sessions, claiming to have ‘loved’ his first week on the job.

The Portuguese started work as the club’s manager last week, having been appointed as successor to Louis van Gaal in May.

Official images have now emerged of Mourinho putting players through their paces at Carrington, United’s training ground, and the 53-year-old marked the occasion by publishing one to his Instagram account.

“After 10 training sessions I can say, ‘I love to work with these guys’,” he wrote in a caption, attached to a picture of him smiling while taking a session.

Mourinho is currently preparing for United’s first pre-season friendly of the summer, a trip to Wigan Athletic on Saturday.

The former Chelsea, Internazionale and Real Madrid coach has been forced to cancel an appearance at a charity match organised by Samuel Eto’o in Turkey in order to attend the Wigan friendly.

According to the Daily Express, Mourinho has put club commitments first and will no longer be attending his former player’s event.

A number of United’s youth players are expected to be given a chance at the DW Stadium, with Mourinho keen to explore the depth of talent in the club's academy.

Tyrell Warren, the 17-year-old right back, and Axel Tuanzebe, an 18-year-old defender, are both expected to feature against Wigan at some point.
