79 min: McCarthy snatches possession from Blind on the half-way line and immediately looks to the space that has opened up behind the Manchester defender. He spots Lukaku who drives into the space but the ball in behind has too much power on it and escapes the Everton striker's run. It's the same old story from Everton but it's evident to everyone that it's clearly not working. The Toffees need to seriously mix things up if they're to stand a chance of salvaging a point.Substitution - Blind comes off for Valencia.

83 min: Another Everton chance, this time from a free-kick. Baines steps up to drill the ball along the deck and into the box. Coming from outside of the box, Cleverly storms into the penalty area and strokes at the ball with his right foot. It looks like it's going in but the United defence block his effort before proceeding to clear the danger.

He plays a short ball to Rashford on the penalty spot but the youngster struggles to get any power behind the ball as turns to take the shot.

90+3 min: Everton try their hardest to work the ball through the United defence but, as with the majority of the game, there's no way through for the Toffees. Niasse struggles to take it past Smalling down on the left-hand side but can only resort to fouling the United defender and hands the home side possession.

FULL TIME: Manchester United 1-0 Everton: It's another 1-0 victory for United thanks Antony Martial's second-half goal. It was a slow and sluggish affair for much of the game with Everton in particular failing to create any real chances. Lukaku was far too isolated but when he did get the ball both Smalling and Blind did a good job in preventing him from bringing in his teammates around him. As for United, the Manchester side were certainly the better team holding onto possession well but they too struggled to penetrate the Everton defence. Nonetheless, the three points is all that matters and the prospect of Champions League football lives on.
