Manchester United suffered a huge blow midweek after falling to a 2-0 defeat away at Spurs and, as such, will be looking to get back on track this weekend against Huddersfield Town.

Jose Mourinho blasted his players and stated that the issues came from the team “failing to follow pre-game plans.”

The defeat ended an eight-game unbeaten run and sets United back 15 points from neighbours City in this season’s title race.

After the shock reverse fixture which saw Huddersfield take home all three points, Mourinho will be extra wary of the Terriers’ threat going forward.

David Wagner’s side last win came against Watford in December and any result away at Old Trafford would be seen as a positive in their fight to avoid relegation.

Manchester United vs Huddersfield kicks off at 3:00pm on Saturday 3 January.

Where can I watch it?

The match will be not be televised live in the UK. Highlights will be shown at 10:30pm this Saturday on BBC 1.

It’s a big game for…

David Wagner. The Terriers have struggled since the turn of the New Year, with their only win coming against Bolton Wanderers in the FA Cup. Matches do not come much tougher than at Old Trafford but his men will take positives out of the way they kept out Jose Mourinho’s side in the reverse fixture last year.

Best stat…

1930. This is Huddersfield’s first season in the top flight for 45 years but they have not beaten United at Old Trafford since 1930. A hat-trick apiece from midfielder’s Gerry Kelly and Alex Jackson ensured they secured the win on route to a top-five finish in the first division.

Player to watch…

Aaron Mooy. The signing of the Australian for £8m last summer from Man City will be seen as one of the major coups of the summer. His importance for the team was epitomised during his performance against United where his man-of-the-match display was gifted with a goal.
