Roberto Martinez has promised to fight to save his job as Everton fans start to crank up the pressure after another stale year at Goodison Park.Former manager David Moyes, Mark Hughes and Eddie Howe have been linked with the post after the Toffees failed to reach the FA Cup final with a semi-final defeat to Manchester United last weekend.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has continued to defend his role at the club, claiming his commitment to the club helped secure the bank loans required to fund the construction of Emirates Stadium.

Disgruntled supporters plan to protest against the Frenchman this weekend after a disappointing season that has seen the Gunners' miss out on the Premier League title yet again.

"When we built the stadium the banks demanded that I signed for five years," said the 66-year-old.

"Do you want me to say how many clubs I turned down during that period?"
