Rio Ferdinand has had a pretty good career as a footballer.
Six league titles, a Champions League winners medal and 81 England caps isn’t bad, but the Peckham-born centre-back might have missed his calling.
At former Manchester United team-mate Kieran Richardson’s 30th birthday party Ferdinand, now at Queens Park Rangers, took the microphone and showed off his skills as an MC.
With grime collective Boy Better Know, which includes Skepta and JME, and jungle legend General Levy in attendance, Ferdinand held his own when he took the mic.
Ferdinand, 35, is a well-known lover of hip-hop and urban music and dedicated a chapter in his autobiography to music.
