Steven Gerrard’s final match at Anfield ended in defeat as Crystal Palace came from behind to spoil the party with a 2-1 victory over Liverpool.

A guard of honour was formed ahead of the match for the Reds captain, who will join LA Galaxy this summer after a 17-year career in Merseyside, but it will be the Palace’s players who will receive the high-fives on their return to the capital.

Adam Lallana goal after 26 minutes had given Brendan Rodgers’ side the lead, one which they looked certain to carry through to half-time before Palace struck back.

Jason Puncheon’s free kick somehow bamboozled somehow bamboozled Simon Mignolet in the Liverpool goal, and Palace were level at the interval.

Pardew’s side would then take the lead on the hour mark, with Wilfried Zaha performing the archetypal super sub role.

Just 22 seconds after replacing Lee Chung-Yong, Zaha pounced on Yannick Bolasie’s deflected cross to fire Palace ahead.

Have a look through Gerrard's 354th and final day at Anfield as it unfolded:
