A famous criticism of Lionel Messi was that because of his slim frame, he might not be able to produce on a 'cold night in Stoke'.

That was, of course, nonsense and Messi's former team-mate Bojan Krkic is further proving it.

It may not have been particularly cold on Wednesday night, but Bojan, a failure at Barcelona, is certainly producing it during pre-season.

The Spaniard scored his third goal in three pre-season matches for Mark Hughes' side as the Potters beat Real Betis 2-0 at the Britannia Satadium.

Stoke have so far struggled this summer, with three draws and two defeats in their first five pre-season games, but they played well against Betis.

Erik Pieters opened the scoring on 30 minutes before Bojan scored two minutes before half-time.

It was an excellent goal from the little striker as he knocked the ball past one defender, raced towards the box and sent the ball into the far corner.

Stoke fans are quietly optimistic about their new man, who has struggled in recent seasons - he hasn't broke double figures since 2010 - after bursting onto the scene at the Nou Camp as a 17-year-old.
