It’s a big game for…

XHERDAN SHAQIRI: Swiss winger Shaqiri has struggled to hit the ground running since his move from Inter Milan and had another difficult night in Swansea on Monday. The 24-year-old’s move was much publicised but he is yet to live up to supporters’ expectations.

Best stat…

6: This isn’t a fixture that normally brings a goal-fest; there have only been six strikes in games between the sides in the last 11 years. Having said that, you have to go back to 2008 for the last time these teams met.

Remember when…

The last time Stoke and Watford played each other was in the 2007/08 promotion-winning season for the Potters. They took on Leicester City on the final day and needed just a point secure a place in the Premier League for the following campaign. They grabbed a goalless draw and the scenes after the final whistle will live long in Potters’ fans memories.

Player to watch…

ETIENNE CAPOUE: The former Spurs midfielder has started in great form at Vicarage Road since signing in the summer and is fast becoming a fans’ favourite among Hornets supporters. He looked Watford’s liveliest player in the 3-0 defeat to Arsenal last weekend and will be key to Watford’s performance at the Britannia.

Past three-meetings…
