Sunderland vs Bournemouth team news: Fabio Borini and Vito Mannone return for Black Cats with Cherries unchanged
Sunderland make two changes for the clash at the Stadium of Light while Bournemouth have Matt Ritchie on the bench
Sunderland will hope to put last weekend’s 4-1 rout to Tottenham behind them when they face Bournemouth today, with manager Sam Allardyce making two changes for the clash at Stadium of Light.
Fabio Borini returns to the starting line-up after striker Danny Graham joined Blackburn Rovers on loan until the end of the season, while goalkeeper Vito Mannone is selected ahead of Jordan Pickford, who drops to the substitutes’ bench.
Bournemouth will hope to build on last weekend’s comfortable 3-0 win over Norwich, and manager Eddie Howe is able to select the same starting line-up for the trip to Sunderland.
There’s a welcome return from injury for Matt Ritchie, although the influential midfielder is only fit enough to take a place among the substitutes, while striker Lewis Grabban is included having returned to the club from Norwich earlier in the transfer window.
Teams
Sunderland: Mannone, Jones, Van Aanholt , O’Shea, Brown, Cattermole, M’Vila, Johnson, Lens, Borini, Defoe.
Subs: Pickford, Rodwell, N’Doye, Coates, Yedlin, Fletcher, Watmore.
Bournemouth: Boruc, Smith, Francis, Cook, Daniels, Surman, Gosling, Arter, Stanislas, Pugh, Afobe.
Subs: Federici, Distin, O’Kane, Ritchie, Grabban, Iturbe, Murray.
