Sunderland vs West Brom team news: Lee Cattermole returns with Black Cats looking to escape relegation zone
Black Cats make one change while Baggies recall Chester and Sandro
Sam Allardyce makes one change to his starting line-up for the visit of West Brom as Sunderland look to put the disappointing 1-1 Tyne-Wear derby behind them.
The Black Cats saw their lead eradicated late on by Newcastle striker Aleksandar Mitrovic last time out, but they have the chance to move out of the relegation zone if their rivals do them a favour and prevent Norwich from winning their encounter at Carrow Road.
Allardyce brings midfielder Lee Cattermole back into the side with Jack Rodwell dropping to the substitutes’ bench.
West Brom will be looking to make up for their surprise 1-0 loss to Norwich before the international break, and manager Tony Pulis makes two changes with James Chester and Sandro returning to the starting line-up at the expense of Jonas Olsson and Stephane Sesseggnon, with the former named on the substitutes’ bench and the latter missing out with injury.
