It’s a big game for…

DALEY BLIND: The Dutchman has played in central midfield, defensive midfield and at left-back in his career so far, and this season manager Louis van Gaal has given him yet another new challenge at centre-half. He has looked relatively assured so far, but this has been against opposition content to sit back against United; Swansea, playing at home will attack with a lot of pace, an area where Blind can undoubtedly be exposed. His performance is key to the outcome of this one.

Best stat…

8: The number of league goals scorer by the Swans in-form striker Bafetimbi Gomis in his last 9 league matches.

Remember when…

Just last year, Swansea gave Van Gaal a day to forget on his Manchester United managerial debut. Gylfi Sigurdsson was the chief party-pooper as his late goal sealed a 2-1 victory for the Swans.

Player to watch…

BAFETIMBI GOMIS: Just starting his second season in Wales, Gomis hit his stride towards the end of last season, as he replaced Wilfried Bony as the club’s first-choice striker. Five goals in the last six games of last season and three in three so far this campaign make him Swansea’s best bet of becoming the first team to register a league goal against United this season.

Past three-meetings…

Swansea 2 (Ki, Gomis) United 1 (Herrera), Premier League, February 2015

United 1 (Rooney) Swansea 2 (Ki, Sigurdsson), Premier League, August 2014

United 2 (Valencia, Welbeck) Swansea 0, Premier League, January 2014
