Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois confirmed that he returned to training on Thursday, after missing the club's previous 14 matches.

The Belgian, who enjoyed a brilliant first season at the club, has not played in Blue since 29 August in the 2-1 home defeat to Crystal Palace.

He injured his knee during training and required surgery.

Courtois took to Twitter to confirm he was back playing - but he still has a way to go before he will be ready to play.

"Next step in rehab today, good feeling in training," he wrote. "Still have to work hard before I will be playing again, but it's coming closer!"

Asmir Begovic has played well in Courtois' absence and will continue in goal as Chelsea return to action against Norwich at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

The Canaries expect winger Nathan Redmond to shake off a thigh injury ahead of the game, while captain Russell Martin is available again following a one-game suspension.

Matt Jarvis, on loan from West Ham, remains sidelined with a knee injury. Midfielders Robbie Brady and Wes Hoolahan helped the Republic of Ireland secure their place at Euro 2016 during the international break and will be assessed
