Tottenham take on 10-time European champions Real Madrid today in the first meeting between the sides since Gareth Bale moved between them for £80m.

The sides are playing in the Audi Cup, with the friendly match taking place at Bayern Munich's Allianz Arena.

The tournament also features AC Milan and Bayern Munich, who play each other after the Spurs match. The winners and losers from today will meet tomorrow.

The match kicks off at 5.15pm BST (6.15pm local time in Germany) and can be seen on Premier Sports.

Mauricio Pochettino will be wary of over-exerting his side with Tottenham's opening game of the Premier League season against Manchester United on Saturday. However, the Spurs manager hopes to use the match to prove what his side are capable of.

"It’s a good opportunity for us to show our quality.

"The games will be very competitive and that's important for us because we start the season with a tough game at Old Trafford. We want to be fully fit and ready for the first game in the Premier League.

"We know it’s an important season ahead. We want to do better."

The match is probably most notable for it being the first meeting since Bale left Tottenham in 2013. The Welshman is expected to play whilst another former White Hart Lane favourite, Luka Modric, could also feature.
