Belgium winger Nacer Chadli has flown to London as he prepares to finalise his £7m move from FC Twente to Tottenham.

Chadli, who can play on either wing, will join fellow Belgians Mousa Dembele and Jan Vertonghen should he agree the five-year-deal as expected.

Tottenham confirmed that a deal has been agreed for the transfer of Chadli, who will now discuss personal terms and undergo a medical.

Should the deal be completed, Chadli will fly out to Hong Kong to join his new teammates, who are competing in the Barclays Asia Trophy.

The 23-year-old’s versatility is thought to have attracted manager Andre Villas-Boas, who is desperate to free up Gareth Bale and give him the freedom of the pitch.

Chadli initially attracted attention from Spurs when he scored at White Hart Lane in the Champions League three years ago, when Tottenham and FC Twente met in the group stages. He went on to score again when the two sides met in Holland, leaving a lasting memory on the Spurs hierarchy.

Rival Premier League clubs Swansea and Aston Villa have also shown interest in Chadli’s services, who has dual citizenship having played in a friendly for Morocco before choosing to commit to Belgium, the country of his birth.

Names such as Thomas Vermaelen, Romelu Lukaku, Marouane Fellaini and Simon Mignolet already ply their trade for English clubs, along with Villa's Christian Benteke who signed a new four-year-contract with the club earlier this week.

He will become Villas-Boas' second signing of the summer, having confirmed the £17m acquisition of Brazilian midfielder Paulinho.
